As much as you, I am always always on the lookout for ways to increase my health, fight signs of aging, and better my sex live. For many years I did not know how big the impact of the right foods would be on my health and well-being. The secret to health lies not with some shiny, new chemical product or procedure, but in the the mood we are in, the way we look at life and…. the foods we eat!
Here are 4 of my favorite foods to remain a healthy flora in my Intimate Area so that invaders have no chance to live in there and breed some painful vaginal infection:
Foods to Remain a Healthy Vaginal Flora
#1 Eat Those Berries, Baby
Strawberries, Raspberries, Blackberries, Blueberries, Cranberries etc. are miracle food. I swear by it. Not only does eating them will boost your mood, it also boost your immune system. Many people and studies say that especially cranberries help to restore good bacteria, cure yeast infections and help prevent urinary infections. Unique structure of compounds found in cranberries called proanthocyanidins, or PACs, are responsible for this anti-adhesion benefit. Raspberries also contain antimicrobial properties. The berries can be used to help prevent the growth of Candida albicans, the culprit in many vaginal infections as well as a trigger in irritable bowel syndrome. To make a long story short: Eat those berries. Trust me. You don’t need to study them just eat them and feel how they change your mood and boost your immune system.
Garlic is a great and cheap way to heal vaginal infections in its initial stage as it kills yeast.
Those who bake bread know not to add garlic while the dough is rising or it will kill the yeast. Instead, garlic is added to the dough after it has risen, just before baking it in the oven. (Source MidwiferyToday)
This natural antibiotic helps fight bad bacteria and leaves the good bacteria intact. The end result is fighting off that yucky yeast and support a healthy vagina. If you already have an infection read this article to learn how to use garlic against the infection. If you want to maintain a healthy flora I recommend to incorporate it in a fresh and uncooked way into your diet. (Ressearches have shown that after 20min of cooking the antifungal qualities of garlic are gone)
#3 Lemon Juice
When the alkaline is too high and the acidic volume in the body is too low, this allows yeast infections to occur. Lemon is highly acidic. Rich in Vitamin C, this yummy fruits and its juice can help maintain vaginal health. It provides the right acidic environment (Ph balance) allowing the good bacteria to grow and has the added benefit of increasing a sweet smell and taste in the lady parts.
#4 Natural Yogurt
Eating yogurt with active cultures (= probiotics) on a regular basis can fights off yeast and urinary infections. I personally don’t eat any cow milk yoghurt but only fermented coconut or other fermented nut yoghurt. Cow milk usually is full of antibiotics and some studies have shown that most of worlds population cannot bear with milk (lactose intolerance). Other sources of probiotics include kimchi, sauerkraut, kefir, and miso.
This is my favorite & my No. 1 Tip to prevent any infection along with a healthy & balanced diet. Yes, you heard right. Water – drink it in the morning, afternoon, evenings and nights. If you are close to a natural spring you are lucky, if you are living in a city try to buy water in glass bottles. Water adds in natural lubrication and can result in a milder vaginal scent. Water will help to flush excess bacteria from your urinary tract and vaginal opening. Your urine should look very pale yellow. Buy only good water & don’t drink from the tap. Give your body the best golden fluid out there.
And Lovely, Remember: It makes no sense to eat a pack of cranberries and then swing by Mc Donalds. Try to incorporate many fresh fruits, nuts, seeds and vegetables into your diet. All of them fresh and if possible organic. It pays off.
