5 Ancient Secrets To A Magical Mane
Tip #1: Cut Your Hair By The Light Of The Moon
Many traditions do not encourage cutting hair at all, and believe that the tips of the hair strands are the antenna. Other traditions follow the moon cycles for hair care to enhance the strength, thickness, length, root health, and beauty.
For a lunar hair care system, here are some basic guidelines:
The Waxing Moon begins right after the New Moon and culminates at the Full Moon. During the waxing phase, hair and nails grow more quickly, and hair and skin are more absorptive. The waxing phase is a good time for a haircut, which will encourage growth, and the Full Moon is the *best* time of the month for it.
The Waning Moon begins just after the Full Moon and ends with the New Moon. During this time, the rate of growth slows down, so a haircut during this time will stunt growth for the month.
Solstices and Equinoxes are the most prime times of the year to cut your hair for encouraging growth, thickness, and overall hair health.
Tip #2: Wear It Up During The Day, Down At Night
In the Kundalini Yoga tradition, it is recommended to coil or bun hair on the crown chakra during the day to energize brain cells and then to comb it down at night.
Braiding at night is also encouraged for its positive effect on balancing the electromagnetic field.
Tip #3: Wash Away The Blues
The hair is reflective of inner states of being and stores trauma and emotion. Washing your hair after stress and upset can help you to process your emotions.
So cleaning your tresses after low times can help you to clear out any stuck energy!
Tip #4: Brushing Secrets
Hair brushing with a bristle brush twice a day stimulates circulation, distributes oil, and is said to help maintain youthfulness, healthy menses, and good eyesight!
Brush from front to back and then flip your head and brush from back to front for maximum effect.
#5 A Last & Very Important Secret
The ancients believed that each and every one of us was given a sacred color of hair. They would not bleach or dye their hair.
Dying hair (dying = destined for death) is not only known to cause intense damage to the hair itself, it is also known to rob your hair off its spiritual and intuitive powers. On top of that the chemicals used in hair dye exposes your scalp and therefor entire body to a myriad of highly toxic chemicals.
In Native ceremonies Hennas were used for a sacred purpose. They also knew that by using henna the natural color would soon return naturally. So if you really want to change the color of your hair, use henna instead of chemical hair dye.
