The Magical Powers Of Your Hair
“Our hair fashions might be just a trend, but if we investigate, we may find that we have been depriving ourselves of one of the most valuable sources of energy for human vitality.” -Yogi Bhajan
The significance and powers of hair have been common knowledge in most ancient cultures and traditions.
After a few generations of cutting hair as the norm, this information has been lost from the mainstream.
“Initially, cutting hair was something that conquerors did to control and enslave the people of the land. They did this because they knew that it would weaken the people and lessen their sensitivity to subtle information.”
In sympathetic magic and hoodoo (a traditional African American folk spirituality), the hair is a powerful “personal concern” that can be used in magical workings to influence the owner of the hair.
In Japan, female hair incorporated into an amulet is thought to protect the health and well-being of the person carrying it.
3 Hidden Powers Of Your Hair
#1: Hair Strengthens Intuition
Your hair acts as a two-way antenna, allowing cosmic, solar, and lunar energy / chi / prana to flow in, and also emits energy from the body.
“As an extension of the nervous system, the hair can be seen as nerves on the outside, creating the ability to sense and transmit the vibrations of people, plants, animals, and more.”
With this ability, your hair is like an information highway reaching your brain, allowing you to access the subtle energies of your environment!
#2: Hair Increases Vitality
Just as the hair acts as an antenna, amplifying intuition through extrasensory perception, it also brings in more Chi, which translates as more energy and vitality!
“Do you know the Bible story of Sampson and Delilah? When Sampson’s hair was cut, he lost all his strength and was defeated. This is because the Chi that is gathered is stored and used in the body for all the vital functions.”
So the healthier your hair, the more effectively you can fill yourself up with Chi. And Chi = energy = power, so…you want some of it!
Note: Using chemicals on your hair will coat the shafts with residue, and block the ability to collect Chi.
#3: Hair Boosts Sexual Energy
Jing, or sexual energy, is both reflected and increased by the health of the hair. The healthier the hair, the more robust is the sexual energy and the more able it is to bring in the base elements that nourish Jing.
“In Japanese traditions, hair is considered to contain the life essence and is a repository of fertility. It is believed that long hair is more sexually charged and potent. In Taoist traditions, it is said that for men, excessive emissions will lead to hair loss and premature aging.”
Similarly, in the forehead, there are porous bones that allow light to the pineal gland, the center which affects the brain, thyroid, and sex hormones. So the trend of thick bangs could lead to a negative impact on healthy sex hormone flow (sex hormones and Jing are the markers of youth).
To nourish your sexual energy, care for your hair in natural ways.

hair is composed of dead cells – so yeah not really buying this article at all. anecdotally, i know people with short hair who are vivacious and full of life, and i know people with long hair who are decidedly not. believe what you want, but to me this is “magical thinking”.
I have no doubt about the truth of the message. But what do bald men like me, what shall we do?
“Excessive emissions” – must explain my hair loss! 😉
